Welcome to this 3rd and final Special Break. Yes, the following 3 images and words shared are intended to challenge those Dads who have kids entering or in their teen years. As to why? Every Dad needs to determine what gets their attention & what motivates them to do what they need to do as a Dad.
Hopefully, all of the following helps the Dads we have across our country - because we need Dads who do what is needed (never easy, but always required).

This year for our Independence Day holiday (July 4th), I have this last challenge for all the Dads that have kids who will soon be teens, or are teens already. And yes, in reference to this first image shown - if you now have a teen, your first 12 years of teaching, training and trying what you think best - is over. Now is time for you to think and then determine - do you know what you want your teens kids to learn, and to experience as best can so they are ready for the world they are growing into? My Bng a Dad Staying Engaged (book 3 attached below) builds upon the insights to consider that were shared in my second book - Bng a Dad Stepping Up. In this book, I give you those examples that you should at least consider as your kids pursue their teen years. |
Yes, it is another easy to read, a chuckle here and there, good to ponder and decide what you'll do. But also keep in mind the words below as you consider what is shared.
Now, please know that this third book does give you some good considerations, but it doesn't touch on all of the critical aspects that kids growing up to become teens, need to know. It is up to you and your wife to consider the challenges I cover and then determine the what else (peer pressure, drugs, compassion, sex, integrity, social issues, sacrifice, violence, honor, manipulation, respect, apathy, discrimination, forgiveness, etc. etc.). |
So, don't be apathetic or lazy - and don't let your teen be so either. They are going to do good things, so please - applaud and encourage them for those. They will also make mistakes, so please - teach them and if needed, discipline them appropriately so that they learn. Therefore, help them to do the right things and not just the easy ones. They, you and your family will be glad that you did as their teen years unfold.
Thanks for considering all of this.
My prayers & best wishes for all.
