Yesterday, our Guys Garage team was asked "I've got two questions. First, I've read the 'Bng A Dad' FREeBooks on the OH2C tab. Are there any more? And second, my son is going to be a teenager soon and I'm nervous on when I should have the sex talk with him. Do you have any advice?"
Well, the answer to the first question is an easy one. You can click on and read this quick read. |

As for the second question, that's a bit harder because the last time this came up, years back - Barney had shared this story (below) with his young teenage son and we don't think it stands the test of time. Then, Fred said . . . "Just show him this picture" (shown below).
Well, neither are great today. So, we better see if there is anything better to use. Please review the following and let us know what you would recommend (its got to be better then these).

Or, if that picture doesn't help, how this? | A little boy goes to his father and asks, “Dad, how was I born?” The father answers, “Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other. There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: 'You've got male!' |
Now we agree, the two examples above could be used - but we recommend - be honest and start out with a brief explanation because that may be sufficient for a start. Then, when they want more information, they'll come back to you or you can work on a better follow up talk when needed.
And in closing. Just remember, the above is to help you to think on what you may say and do. You have to decide what is useful, what to do and when. Thanks for considering this and know that our prayers and best wishes are for everyone!!!
