And remember, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." -Matthew 5:8
We need to remember - the 'ugly' side of us is always within. Our honesty is one way of keeping that 'out of sight' (under control). Our challenge, do we leverage honesty as we should - even though others may not?

We all would like life to be fair but we know it isn't. Good people are hurt by bad people, good deals (we thought) go bad and the more we look around, it seems the rich get richer and the rest of us struggle. How best to deal with unfair situations? Contentment is one tool. It enables us to look at the bad, not that we have to accept it but we know we can deal with it, to put it into perspective. That means . . . Remember, "Bless those that curse you. Pray for those who hurt you." Luke 6:28
"He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken." Psalm 62:2
"When you know that everything matters—that every move counts as much as any other—you will begin living a life of permanent purpose."
Now the above and the words shared these last 11 weeks are all intended to help us all to get thinking. Thanks for pondering and as a closing FYI. . . I know as I thought deeper on "It All Matters", I then smiled because those initials "I A M" reminded me of the following: When Moses asked God for His name, the Lord answered, "I AM WHO I AM," indicating He is self-existent, eternal, unchanging, undying, and infinitely self-sufficient. Centuries later, Jesus adopted this name for Himself in John’s Gospel, saying, "Before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58), and telling us, "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35), "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12), "I am the door" (John 10:9), "I am the good shepherd" (John 10:11), "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25). The pendulum swings back and forth over the years as to what is 'acceptable' and that may be good. My only request would be that humility stay in the middle of that reality - a constant that we see often, not minimally.
"When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom." -Proverbs 11:2 |
