Our study on The Madman (another 'Agent of Babylon' by Dr. David Jeremiah) continues with a focus on the remaining words from the 8th chapter in the Book of Daniel. By looking back, we have insight to what will come. It all is based on horrible suffering. Consider the following:
Yes the years of Tribulation will be horrible but we know that evil can rise and succeed for a time but it will not be sustained. Just like Antiochus the IV, the Antichrist will be defeated in his purpose and he will be destroyed in his punishment. The challenge on us is how should we live in knowing this?
And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be." -Gabriel (from Daniel 8:19). Well, if you are focused on our recent presidential election, you would probably say 'Donald Trump'. But he is not the focus (more on him 'in the months to come). We return to our study on The Conqueror (another 'Agent of Babylon' by Dr. David Jeremiah). From the 8th chapter in the Book of Daniel, we learn about another of Daniel's prophetic dreams. From history, you may recognize who they were.
To close, from this dream we learn that Daniel saw the coming of Alexander, a great general but he also saw the coming of Jesus, our great Savior. To see the comparisons, read the following poem from C.R. Weede. THE CONQUERORS
Jesus and Alexander died at thirty-three. One lived and died for self; one died for you and me; The Greek died on a throne; the Jew died on a cross; One's life a triumph seemed; the other but a loss. One led vast armies forth; the other walked alone. One shed a whole world's blood; the other gave His own. One won the world in life and lost it all in death; The other lost His life to win the whole world's faith. Jesus and Alexander died at thirty-three. One died in Babylon, and one on Calvary. One gained all for himself; and one Himself He gave, One conquered every throne; the other every grave. The one made himself God, the God made Himself less, The one lived but to blast, the other but to bless. When died the Greek, forever fell his throne of swords; But Jesus died to live forever Lord of lords. Jesus and Alexander died at thirty-three. The Greek made all men slaves; the Jew made all men free. One built a throne on blood; the other built on love. The one was born of earth; the other from above. One won all this earth, to lose all earth and heaven. The other gave up all, that all to Him be given. The Greek forever died; the Jew forever lives. He loses all who gets, and wins all things who gives. Yes this week we have a break from our Agents of Babylon study and since Dr. David Jeremiah's style is a good one, I ask for your consideration on the following for this 11/11/16 and the weeks that follow.
The Veterans are role models; we thank them and we remember Jesus' words (from Matthew 5:9) . . .
"Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." As you think about that, we're talking about this week's study on The Lion King (another 'Agent of Babylon' by Dr. David Jeremiah). From the 6th chapter in the Book of Daniel, we learn that Daniel is not in 'hot water' as they say, he is in one of the worst of all positions. He found himself being placed in the Lion's den . . . but what say you - have you ever been in a most difficult situation?
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8
