Just a reminder. These weekly messages are to share some food for thought information based on the weekly Men's Fraternity meetings we pursue. Our hope is that these brief recaps help you to think about some things that you may not have thought upon and they trigger you to dig further into the actions needed for your life to be rewarding. The how and what that means is up to each of this. This week's blog is a start and the previous blogs (below) are there for your consideration. | For session eight of our pursuit of The Great Adventure, I share the following highlights from our review and discussion on refocusing our life. We all should know that there are two ways for going through life. . . Where the first is what most men do - that is by Comparing & Competing (which tends to be the reactive lifestyle with unhealthy pressures). Or the second which is the approach we should consider - that is Envisioning & Enjoying (which is a proactive lifestyle with healthy pursuits). |
Be what? Do what? Have what? Enjoy what? Leave what?
Because if we as men don't ask these questions of ourselves (or you may have your own good questions to add to these) and if we don't periodically review and adjust our efforts as we progress through our years - you know what will happen? We'll end up with what happens to too many men - that is a pity party. These questions that we ask of ourselves are a good start for our personal Sacred Ground plan for refocusing our life. And if you're still not sure you want to make the time for that review, then at least ask yourself if that pity party will be worth it (and consider the following).
From Ecc. 4:4 "And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another.
This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."
And from Eph. 5:15-16 "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,
making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."
Thank you for considering the above and let us know if you would like to address any of this further.
Breaking News (in case you need a chuckle): The Pity Train has just derailed at the intersection of Suck It Up and Move On, and crashed into We All have Problems, before coming to a complete stop at Get Over It. Any complaints can be forwarded to 1-800-waa-waaa.
