First, if you are reading these words; I'll assume that you have been with us for our K/21 journey in process. This week we pursued the twenty-third trail, titled: "At the Core of My Being". From that, we know that we are not perfect yet we also know we are striving for the right things in life. We also learned that we can be working hard to be on the right track, yet we may have setbacks along the way (everyone has tough times now and then). K/21s can push forward so hard, working to be the men they should be but they can forget to refuel, recharge, or to reset as they should. To know if this is happening to you, ask yourself. . .
- Do I recognize the 'warning lights" from what I say or by how I feel?
- Do I make the time to stop and to connect with God?
- When I'm having some troubles, do I tell someone I trust, to get their feedback?
- Although I'm busy, do I make the time to exercise, am I staying in shape?
If you answered 'yes' to the above questions, you are managing your core. If you answered 'no' to some or most of these questions, you are probably wondering. . .
- What 'gets' to me? - What can I not seem to let go of?
- What am I thinking about all the time and losing sleep over?
Second, with the above getting you to think; now I'd like you to take a couple of minutes to write down your responses to the following: Your "Core" is recharged, invigorated, etc by. . .
What do I invest my TIME on? ________________________________________________________
. What do I invest my ENERGY on? _________________________________________________
What do I invest my PASSION on? _____________________________________________
What do I invest my MONEY on? ___________________________________________
Now these last four questions above are a great way to review what really drives you. The challenge is to do this type of self-review. When we are honest as to our strengths, our weaknesses, and those things that we 'invest in', then we can assess and adjust as needed. A great way to then move forward with this information is to create a plan. For our K/21s, we are pursuing what we are calling 'our Knighthood Plan'. If those of you reading these words would like to know more about these plans or anything that I've summarized above, just use our "Contact Form" or comment back as needed. We'll respond as soon as we can.
(don't forget). . .
None of us are perfect.
It is our efforts to move forward that are most important (assessing our situation and pursuing those things that head us toward our goals is key).
Today is a great day for us to begin impacting tomorrow.
