It reminded me that it is ok to want things but it is better to be grateful for what we have. Too often we don't see how much we are blessed because we are too focused on what more we want. Therefore, in pondering what to be grateful for, let me take you through our Ninth trail for our K/21 team and that is titled "Having the Body You Always Wanted". An interesting insight as we review what we have and are grateful for.
Now what we covered is too much to lay out for you via these few words. I will offer the following: First, if you would like to know more on this session, please use our Contact Form and ask any questions - we'll respond quickly to help you catch up to our awareness and efforts being pursued based on what we learned. Second, are there any summary points that would help to better understand this challenge of our body? Yes and those are as follows to help you gain the insight that we now have:
- It is more than just an awareness to heart, mind, body and soul - there are aspects of self-awareness,
self-image, self-care and self-discipline that we need to understand and to pursue.
- To understand the 'shape we're in', we need to evaluate our use of. . . food, 'substances', exercise, safety, medical treatment and of our sexuality - these are not to chuckle over, they are to review and to address.
Is there a downside of not addressing our body - our health? Yes, it is like playing Russian Roulette = no idea as to your longevity or physical strength, and limited abilities to not only help yourself but what you can for others, perception (of self and by others); if you can't take care of yourself, why trust you to lead and/or help others, etc.
Remember, sometimes throughout our life, we need our 'warrior' capabilities. I encourage you to join us, to work on not only being a better man in our thoughts and words, but also in our actions. Taking care of our body is a life long responsibility. View it as a gift to be taken care of an not as a burden - you'll be glad that you did.
I'll then close with these three requests:
First, consider these words from Haggai 1:5 'Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways".'
am I a typical man
or a REAL Man?
And third, with Thursday being 'turkey day' - enjoy the food, the gathering with family and /or friends and join me in trying to 'not over do it'.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving holiday!
