As we work our way through our Dad Do Over considerations, one look that is not good – is arrogance. Fortunately with an occasional dose of humility, we can keep our ego in check. As to why does this matter? All kids learn a lot from watching others and sadly, there are way too few role-models out there when it comes to humility. So – Dads, we have missed up on this a few times over the years, but know this. It is never too late to become a good role-model (it's ADDO recommendation that you'll be glad you pursued). |

Today is a good day for a little MotorVation – and for that, consider this 3 part question. A) What is being noble? The dictionary states it is: possessing outstanding qualities. B) Do you consider being noble as an important pursuit? For this is key as to our character; being respectful, being honest, being kind, being helpful and doing what you can to be a role-model. And C) Do you do what you can to not only be accountable, but to hold others accountability as well? For this may be where our society is breaking down the most. Because when wrong doings are not stopped, if penalties are not pursued, and or if excuses are made – all that is noble, unfortunately loses its value. This then is the challenge for this weekend. And if you like cars, then consider this. Are you a Corvette or a Chevette? If you are more of a Corvette, others usually appreciate and admire you. If you are a Chevette, there is a good chance most don't even see you or care about you, about what you say, or about what you do. And there is the challenge. Each of us are not perfect but we can pursue things that contribute aka being a part of the solution and not being a part of the problem. Think about this and decide if you are on track as you wish or if some changes are needed. And remember Philippians 4:8 . . .
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Now here is a topic we can have some fun with and it is something that we may not really think of as an option. As to the fun side, we all can probably remember doing something dumb way back in our past, and then doing what most would call . . . “Run for your life!” And yes, there could be a few out there who had this unfold more than a once or twice occurrence. But, being older, we need to be wiser. As in 1st – maybe don't do something that we may later regret. 2nd – maybe realize it is just better to walk away from a bad situation and stay out of the mess. And/or 3rd – choose the most difficult path and that is to see the mess unfolding and staying engaged to find a way to make it better (if possible).
Wisdom (W) from so many years back, maybe easy to forget or to even ignore – but we shouldn't. And in thinking on that, the following is for your consideration. First, have you ever paused to consider what you want from your job, from your spouse, from your kids, from life or whatever? Now I'll admit that is a different type of Q that we all should consider from time to time.
