Greetings for this Tuesday the 17th, St. Patrick's Day for 2015. I have been looking forward to this day for about a month (the words shown to the right are the 'more on that'). At the time I was creating my 'placeholder' thoughts, I did not know what our K/21 trail would cover. I'm pleased that our twenty-second trail was on 'Influencing the Influencers'. Let me start first with these words below. . . So with the wind now at our back, let me share the summary points from our K/21 twenty-second trail as follows (and let me know of any questions). | As a side note, I would like to dedicate this week's blog to Adam Brown. He died on this day, five years ago while in service to our country. His story is an amazing one and if you have a couple of minutes to read more about his life, click on this website http://fillthegapamerica.weebly.com/blog (and see the 3/17/15 blog posted) P.S. I originally had not planned on posting these additional words but when I had read them, I thought of Adam and how he saw the bigger picture of life. He knew his own demons and saw that evil if not unchecked, progresses slowly like a cancer; spreading, spreading, spreading. Many years back, C.S. Lewis wrote. . . "Indeed, the safest road to Hell is the gradual one - the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts." - Screwtape That quote above is from the book "The Screwtape Letters". One that I've wanted to read for years and finally am getting the chance to read now. Let me just say, a very interesting book as well. |
- Our reason for being and the meaning of our life - A thirst for knowledge -

- How to embrace changes that are necessary in our life - How to utilize our mentors and heroes -
- Time for solitude and reflection - How to bridge the gap between "I should" and "I did" -
- How to fail forward by picking ourselves up and learning life's lessons -
- The power of self-discipline - How to slow down and to wait - The power of kindness -
- The art of listening - How to put first things first - How to be true to our convictions -

So, if you have discovered the above and are on track as you wish, you are doing well. But if you can see that you are not doing so well in regards to the list above, you now have a good checklist to start working from. Our best wishes as you pursue the above. If you would like some mentoring or coaching help, let us know.
And than make the decisions you need to make so that you continue your journey forward.
“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. . . But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. . . as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:14-15)
