First, from the Bible, who would you say were examples of good men? Maybe you would say these men from the ages of the Old and New Testaments - like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Peter and Paul. Yes they did good things but they also had their struggles as well - for example: The first enabled sin to enter the world, the second became drunk and cursed one of his sons, the third had a child outside of his marriage, the fourth murdered a man, the fifth had a man killed, the sixth denied Christ three times and the seventh persecuted the first Christians. Yet each were used by Godl.
Second, there are those who inspire us, like the following men (they appear to be without blemishes on their records). Enoch, who is said "walked with God"; Joseph, who sold into slavery, yet saved his people; and Daniel, although challenged with death, he stayed in faith; Caleb, was one who never doubted God and was rewarded by his faith; John the Baptist, preached of Jesus' coming; Stephen, preached Christ and was martyred because of it; and Jesus who was the one without sin who became our Savior, reconciling us with God. |
None of us are perfect but we can pursue our faith and serve God. Do you agree and are your trying?
Brad Henry once said . . .
“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.”
Just think what a Good Man can do.
