It is because we are seeing too many men act out on their frustrations, their anger or whatever is pushing their buttons, because they are leaving dead bodies in their wake, not honorable legacies. And it could be at least partially linked to the lack of compassion in their lives. So then, how can we dads address this? It starts with viewing compassion as honorable. Which means that kindness, empathy, respect and if needed . . . sacrifice, has to be a part of what dads embrace in the scope of compassion. For if we embrace all of these, we are role-models for our kids, partners with our wives and contributors to our society. |
