Until he was eighty… he looked like he wouldn’t amount to much more than a once upon a time prince turned outlaw. Would you choose a wanted murderer to lead a nation out of bondage… or to carry the Ten Commandments? God did and He called him – of all places, right out of a sheep pasture. God called his name through a burning bush. Some would say He scared old Moses right out of his shoes! The reassuring lesson is clear. God used then and uses people today to change the world. People, not saints or super humans or geniuses… but people… And what they may lack in perfection, God makes up for in love.
These words above written by Max Lucado are a great reminder to us all. We should all be happy at Christmas for we remember the gift God gave us all – His son. Then when Christmas is over, we should not be sad but happy that each of us are here for a reason (Jesus had a purpose and He fulfilled it). There are things we can do with the talents we have, there is a purpose for us all. We’re never too old or to young or not talented enough – we are as God made us, we are gifted to be a part of His plan. Do we feel it, do we see it?
If not yet, then ask what am I doing to prepare myself for the purpose within me?
