Next then is our tenth trail that took us down the path of understanding that we all have feelings. Yes, we tend to bury them but that is not the right thing to do. In fact most men probably think these words in the orange box sums up all they want to think or say in regards to their feelings. We men need to realizing that understanding and developing 'our brain' in regards to our feelings is critical to enabling the success we want to have - in our families, jobs and in our pursuit of our goals.
In this session recap, I will not cover all that we heard and discussed but I will share these highlights. Each of us has to decide if we want to (learn how and to apply): listen deeper to others, finding greater motivation for our daily tasks, increasing the value in our relationships, understanding women and children better, setting up appropriate boundaries, taking responsibility for our emotional reactions and seeing life more realistically. Now if you are interested, I can share more aspects on these and the other points we covered this week - just use our D2B Contact Form and I'll respond as needed.
We find we can't hide from our feelings or can we control them. But in learning to address them, we gain the insights as to why emotions can seem so illogical at times, why we don't lead when we should, why we don't achieve our goals.
So challenge yourself to reflect upon your feelings, what you need to do to understand and to develop how best to leverage and to manage them. This is another of those subjects that we should not take lightly.
Where to start? Consider: Colossians 3:12-13 "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved; clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
