This week's eighteenth trail gave us great insight as to our genes and how they influence us. The pictures, quotes and words shared this week are to give you some considerations. Pick and choose those aspects you find most helpful and let us know if you have any comments or questions. Here goes: First, we all must remember the basics for our genetics - that they determine our height, our skin, hair and eye color, and those aspects that impact our health, abilities and talents. |
The awareness of these aspects enables a K/21 to have the right perspective of himself and others. For example, K/21s : accepts that his genetics do not make him unworthy, takes personal responsibility for his development, does not make excuses and leverages his 'iron will' for managing his self-determination (he develops what he can and gets help when he needs it). Now is there more to understand? Yes but you have to first determine if you agree with the above. All of these words shared are to help you to start thinking of where you are at in regards to your K/21 pursuits. If you are on track and pursuing the right things - that is fantastic! But if things are not going well for you, then pursue these K/21 actions listed and let us know if you have any questions.
It is a prayer that will be developed further over our weeks to come . . . "God, you have created us to become men but we have failed to step up to Your calling. Speak to me each day as to where I am on my manhood journey. Help me to pursue my self-confrontation and self-development. Give me the strength to do the right thing, to demonstrate my appreciation to my brothers who are on a similar journey and may I in their lives be a present and positive partner in our mutual work. May my family, church, co-workers, and community see the changes I am making as I work to contribute to their lives. Because of Your strength, I pray. Amen"
