First, today is Good Friday but what does that mean to the Christian or the non-Christian? As for my answer to that, you'll see via the words below. Consider these and let us know of any comments or questions.
- If you are a typical male, this may be like any other Friday. You may have various struggles or just don't see yet how the things that men do, move them from wants and frustrations to haves and success.
- For the men pursuing our K/21 challenges, you are enjoying your successes and you are wondering - how will I know if I am ready for the next stage of Manhood?
- And as Christian K/21s, we know... the struggles that can unfold in our journeys, the sacrifices that need to be made. Good Friday reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice that our Savior did for us.
Second, we learned this week that for K/21s, the next stage to strive for is the Transparent stage of Manhood. We are ready for that when we have laughed, loved and lead... and see the following:
- Desire to positively affect others.
- Willingness to sacrifice self-preservation and personal comforts.
- Understanding and motivation by the reason of his existence.
Third, what are the characteristics of the Transparent Men? (know anyone who does these?)
He knows that he is willing to give of himself in such a way that it may cost him his life.
He vetoes his inner man in order to move outside of himself to create the miraculous.
He discovers that every venture into transparency changes him forever.
He has learned the benefits of trusting in something beyond himself.
He accepts that he can no longer fully rely upon his previous coping skills (his faith carries him).
Yes there have been (remember 2,000 years ago on that "Good Friday") and over the years - those that have done more than others in the ways summarized above. So what say you - do have:
Principles that encourage. . . Purposes that drive. . . Passions that fuel. . .
Plans that guide. . . Personal relationships that strengthen. . .
Now the words that following these 5 "Ps" can vary. If you would like to know more on these that we learned, let me know. And as a bonus considering, I hope the closing words below help challenge you to do more.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13
our last K/21 trail - Beyond Knighthood . As to what I would like to share on all of this, is covered by the following.
