First - consider this picture and quote to the right. Yes that is James Bond (Daniel Craig) and I have to admit, I thought that Skyfall was a pretty good movie. But if it is the "Bond" character that you would like to be like, I would then admit - you're on the wrong path.
Second - is the challenge that we have in regards to what type of man do we want to be? Yes there was a lot of good information shared over the last 24 weeks - all good food for thought information.
As K/21s, there is so much more to who we are. Use this week ahead to consider the three sets of words shared last week (our K/21 "Code of Honor" and "Our Solemn Commitment" as well as "The Armor of God"). All good words that we have to decide: do I agree and will I pursue?
If we stick to the movies; there are two men that I have always admired. George is from my favorite movie (Its a Wonderful Life) and Atticus is from my favorite book (To Kill a Mockingbird), which also happens to be my second favorite movie.
Over the years, there have been many great characters for us to see and to possibly to emulate in some way. What would be great is if our kids or others saw us as great role models; men of Honor, Integrity and Character. Those are just a few of the values that we are challenged to pursue. I thank you all for joining us on this K/21 journey and I encourage you in all your efforts going forward (and remember: do what we need to do, not just what we want to do).
And in closing - per my third item above. Yes there are various characters from books, movies, etc that we may like and want to try and honor. As for me, I'm working to live a life that pleases Jesus (my Savior) and yes, I've got a lot yet to do. My prayers and best wishes for you and your efforts as to who you wish to honor. I know that if I pursue my faith (as best I can), my family, friends and I benefit from those efforts.
