Someone once said . . . “Less friends, less drama, keep your circle small.” Now these words are true and often embraced by those who are struggling with a fear of some type – but that (fear) is not what we have to struggle with. How & Why? Consider this. We can learn from the Bible how to defeat fear and its twin, the fear of failure. To do so, consider these three examples. First) from Joshua 1:1-9, we learn that Moses has died and Joshua is selected by God to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. God comforts him by telling him that He [God] will be with him, what to do and where to go, as well as instructions for doing so. He believes and trusts God because he embraced God's purpose, promise, protection, presence, persuasion, priority and prosperity. |
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Third) from Philippians 4:13 (approximately another 700 years later), we are reminded again by Apostle Paul . . . ”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
So yes, fear can unfold but embrace our faith, God is with us.
