Someone once said 'self-control is choosing to do what is right when I feel like doing wrong.' That is a good framework to start with – but is there more to understand on this? Yes . . . but what are the great 10, 20 and or 30 words that really define this? For example, another set of words shared on this, go a bit deeper and these help: 'Self-control is strength. You have to get to the point where your mood doesn't shift based on the actions of someone else. Don't allow others to control the direction of your life and don't let your emotions overpower your intelligence. Calmness is mastery.' |
Now, are there other ways to look at this that could be better? Probably but we may all differ on what we think is the best way to understand what self-control is. That is okay, just work on embracing self-control as best you can and see where it leads you. And remember: Proverbs 16:32 "Be a patient person, one with self-control.” And as always - thank you for pausing to consider this quick read and in determining if there are any follow up actions required. Our prayers and best wishes for all. |
