The 'want' is the key. The what we will do for it . . . depends on our mindset and on character. Consider these: a) is your desire challenging you to step up, to set goals and to make sacrifices so that you work your way toward the goals you have set for yourself? | b) is your desire leading you down a path where you make dangerous or hurtful decisions? That is the double edge sword of desire. It can be very powerful in driving us to do what we do but it is the what we do and why that we must be careful of. |
So, look at your life, what motivates you, what you have achieved or have drifted away from. Was your desire a factor in those or were you just plugging away? For me, I like the challenge of desire because it is such a powerful double edge sword as I mentioned above. It requires us to be vigilant, to be motivated, to be thinking. It is the fuel within us, the anti-apathy that pushes us forward toward the good things that we want. But then – what say you – are you going through the motions or working hard for what you want? And don't forget . . . Proverbs 22:1 ”A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, favor is better than silver and gold. Our prayers and best wishes are for all. |
