Our pursuit of success requires many things to be done well and the one action that may be overlooked – is effort (and by that we mean dedicated effort). So then, if you have a minute, consider the following to see if you would agree. First . . . when you think of the jobs you have to do (whether it be homework or chores as a kid or the job you are hired to do), are your efforts focused and effective or possibly just good enough to get through it? |
Second . . . consider these words from Sophocles: “Success is dependent on effort.” They are shown here – along with this image of inspiration . . . to help remind us that for us to head toward the success we want in life, we musty put in the effort. That reminds us that minimal effort most often does what is needed to complete a task and maximum effort is an all in focus that usually drives the higher success desired. Which basically means that we get out what we put in (like your doctor during surgery – you want of them their best efforts). So then, do you do your best? |
Know this: We are judged by our words and our actions. So yes your efforts matter. The big questions is . . . do you remember that others are watching? [good to ask yourself periodically] Thanks for thinking on this and in doing better. And don't forget these words (they help as we challenge ourselves to step up). “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.” Colossians 3:23 |
