Now before you answer the question above, think back some 2,000 years ago and picture what you think a shepherd would be. If your thoughts are of David, the young shepherd boy who was able to kill Goliath and then go onto become the King of Israel, you're thinking some 3,000 years ago. What we're talking of at the time Jesus was born, were those who were view as being in the lower class. |
These shepherds who heard the good news, went to see the new born baby Jesus and they then shared the good news that they heard and saw. Which now circles us back to us and the questions we should ask. . .
Am I a Christian? Am I a changed man? Am I growing in faith?
We like the shepherds of old have heard the good news. Are we like them in sharing it with others?
If you can answer yes to those four questions above, congrats. If you're not sure of how you would answer them, then know this. God loves us all and knows that each of us are on our faith journey. Our actions to be better is our gift to God. Now is the time, this Christmas season for us all to work at being that friendly, nicer man that we know is deep inside. Take care and share the love with family and friends as we get ready to celebrate Christ's birth. Praise the Lord!
