Today's Special "Addition" is dedicated to all the Dads (because at one point or another, your kids have done something to push your buttons). Some say that Colin Powell's lesson ten is the best but you'll have to decide if it is a good one to embrace or not. Have you ever been frustrated, mad or afraid for your safety? Most likely, we all have at one point or another in lives. The follow up question then is . . . how did you respond? Most would say that they did what they had to do. Others would say they struggled & failed to deal with it as they would have liked. And then there are those who say, they remained calm & worked through the challenge. |
The key to remember, we all will at some point be caught up in situations that may challenge the heck out of us. General Powell reminds us – no matter what, do your best to remain calm and if at all possibly, be kind in all that you do. You'll feel better, you'll do better and there is a good chance you'll have more advocates & fewer enemies (and yes, a great bonus = few regrets). And last of all, know this: Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.” |
