Please note: This week's message is dedicated to Howard Prushek who passed away yesterday (Dec. 2nd). He was a good example of a man stepping up. He was a retired teacher who not only served his Emily Methodist Church as their organist for over 50 years, he also came and was our organist for over 25 years at our Narrows Community Church. Our prayers for Howard and his extended family - he did so much for others. He will be missed. | We now close this series on Stepping Up. Much has been learned, to help us to grow as men and as fathers; for example: "An arrow is most effective when the target is clear in the mind of the warrior. A parent must learn to define the target". To do so, a man must first pick up the bow, he must accept the challenge - that he wants to do well, that he will step up for himself and his family. We hope you will consider these closing words for this series. |
So how do we summarize the last 10 weeks? Remember this: "Having marriages and families that honor God and accomplish His purposes takes some effort". We need to understand the stages of manhood and we need to make the time periodically throughout our adult life, to get away with our wife, to talk about the important things in life, and to decide what we want to do about them. Why should we do this? Because . . . |
