Now, does prayer help? I don't know for sure but I do know it does not hurt. For me, I believe God wants us to pray in ways that helps us to grow our rapport with Him because I have learned in my years so far, that He knows we are flawed and that we struggle. God listens, He helps but it is in His way and in His timing. |
Here we go - our last bowl of Turtle Soup (and please note - this is a bit different of a blog because I share my approach to prayer as an example but I am most interested as to how others view prayer - so take a look if you are interested and share your perspective on prayer). Thanks! I know my prayer life is not perfect but it is an action that I try to pursue each morning and night (and meal time prayers). But those are my actions. I pray to thank God for the blessings I and my family have received, I pray and ask for His forgiveness for my sins, and I pray to ask for his love, blessings and guidance to continue, and not just for me but for my wife, our kids, their spouses and their kids (our grandchildren). I also pray for our extended family members and our fellow Christians and Jews throughout this world (and that includes our President, Vice-President, our legislators, our Governors, our First Responders, our Police and Firefighters, our Doctors, Nurses & medical teams, our Social Workers, our Teachers and our men & women who serve in our military). My hope is that more and more join us in pursuit of a growing faith. [Why?] It is a big world and so many need God's wisdom, comfort, healing and peace (in my opinion). And yes, as challenges unfold, my prayers alter around those. I am okay with that. I know that as I grow in faith, I am continuing to grow in wisdom as well. My prayers are my connection with God. And for you?
