I'll use the following (and remember, there is a lot more that we can share if you are interested and if yes, use our Comment button for this blog or use our Contact Form and we'll reply as needed). Now the title of our session this week was "How to be a great adventurer". Our discussion quickly lead us to those events that can be called, our defining momements. Every man, whether he likes it or not, or realizes it or not - has these. Those are the defining moments when we pause, reflect and begin to determine. . .
- who do I want to be (the type of man, husband, father, friend)?
- what do I want to pursue with my life (do, achieve and leave behind)?
- how much effort (my blood, sweat and tears) will I give before I quit (stop or give up)?
Now there was a lot more that those few good questions. I hope you are interested and would like to find out more of what we covered and what we can share. Use our contact info mentioned above if any of the men from our group can help in follow up. And to close out our few key points for this week, these words from scripture are for your additional consideration as you consider the above and pursue the following.
From Moses... (Deuteronomy 30:15-19) "See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. " | From Joshua... (Joshua 24:15) “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” |
