Where last week we shared words on the challenge of 'Stepping Up', and this week we have the companion challenge to 'Stand Firm' - but what does that mean?
All of us have events that unfold - times when we have to stand firm. As you think on this for the week, think of others you have seen, who have stood firm - in good ways or bad ways - what did you learn from them?
Which brings us to my request as I opened with above. What are your comments on this? Use our Contact Form to send your comments or recommendations on "Standing Firm". We will then use that additional feedback to complete this blog (thanks in advance for your feedback).
Please note: that feedback received is posted below. To see those comments and our closing words on this week's S2FR info - please click on the "read more" button.
"I've thought this was always focused on standing up for what you believe in but now I realize it is more than just that. The insights as to the three adversaries (fear, pride and indifference) of standing firm were good to read of and to be aware of." And this one received: "I liked the words from Titus 2:7-8 (Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.) because they help us to visualize what standing firm effectively looks like for a REAL man." Also received: "I think that courage and conviction are the key to standing firm and that compromise and contention are its enemy (it is a fine line between them)."
We'll close out with some final words to consider with the above. Those being this consideration, our Summer to Fall Review (S2FR) #5 on Perseverance. | So thank you again for considering all that we share and keep perseverance in mind as you take on the challenges that pop up each day. It will give you the strength to stand firm when needed. |
be constant in prayer."
